Q. How does this thing work?

Q. Shouldn’t the lineholder be longer?

A. No, it has been tested with both shorter and longer lengths.  This is the optimum length.

Q. Can I use the hook remover on other than fly hooks.

A.  Yes, so long as the hook is in the lip or mouth of the fish , but not on deeply swallowed hooks.

Q. My line sometimes twists after I put it on the holder, what can I do?

A.  Cold line or line that has been left on the spool for a long time has a tendency to twist.  Stretch your line in sections to remedy this condition.  Refer to line manufacturer recommendations for specifics about your line.  Do not over stretch.

Q. The clip fits too loosely on my belt. What can I do?

A.  The two clips are adjustable for different thicknesses of clothing.  You can adjust them by hand, but a pair of pliers may make it easier.

Q. Can I use the Flyline Minder on different size hooks?

A.  Yes down to about a size 20 hook or up to as large as you can twist the hook at the start of the bend in the hook.
